Infighting among President Donald Trump’s U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) appointees is growing increasingly bitter, with Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino threatening to resign in response to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi’s handling of the alleged Jeffrey Epstein files.
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tennessee) defended Bongino during a Friday night, July 11 appearance on CNN, and things grew testy when the MAGA congressman invoked former President Joe Biden.
Rep. Richie Torres (D-New York), also on the panel, argued that the Trump presidency has become a “glorified circus” that is “staffed by clowns” and “television personalities.”

Burchett told host Kaitlin Collins and Torres, “The Biden Administration was full of corruption, we all know that. The (House) Intelligence Agency rushed to defend the president’s son with his computer. They said it was Russian disinformation, and then, that was disproven. And the money that flowed through that family. You can say all you want to about it, but this administration is very successful.”
Collins, however, wanted to know what Burchett’s claims about Biden and his son Hunter Biden “have to do with Jeffrey Epstein.”
But Burchett didn’t answer Collins’ question.
“Everybody’s upset about this Epstein thing,” Burchett told Collins and Torres. “I’m sure Trump is too, but I don’t think Trump is on that list…. if, in fact, there is a list.”

When Burchett started talking about the Biden Administration again, Collins reminded him, “Yeah, but this is about what’s happening right now with the president you voted for.”
