Trump voter livid after being profiled by ICE: ‘I’m an American who now has to be afraid’

With Donald Trump having six months under his belt in his second term, some independent voters who decided to give him a second shot at the Oval Office have mixed feelings about what has transpired, according to a report from NBC News.

According to the Friday report, several of those who voted for the president are grossly unhappy that he has yet to keep some of his promises.

One voter, identified only as Jorge, is definitely regretting his vote.

As NBC’s Bridget Bowman and Dylan Ebs reported, “These voters, who participated in the final NBC News poll of the 2024 election and backed Trump after supporting Biden or not voting in 2020, were largely optimistic that a second Trump presidency would bring about change, especially on the economy and immigration issues. Now, they’re split on Trump’s presidency.”

According to Janice Dunn, 82, of North Carolina, she is “disappointed” with the president so far.

“He said he was gonna get gas down, he was gonna get groceries down. Now he put tariffs on half the stuff we buy and things are going up, up, up. I feel like a lot of his plans are backfiring,” she told NBC.

Jorge, who lives in Florida and was ineligible to vote in 2020 when Trump lost to President Joe Biden, is beyond disappointed.

“Rather than putting American values and American lives first, he’d rather focus on international issues, which isn’t really what he promised. His campaign was more or less about helping the economy, helping the working class, and really helping out when it comes to taxes,” he said while admitting he was “skeptical” of Trump before casting his ballot.

Stating he would not make the same mistake again, he noted ICE sweeps in his neighborhood and noted he was recently pulled over and asked to provide identification.

“I’m an American who now has to be afraid,” he said before complaining, “It’s disappointing. He thinks he can just take everyone.”
