Trump Cabinet pick Scott Bessent delivered a body blow to Elon Musk, and the world’s richest man is now lashing out.

Bessent said on CNN that Musk was polling badly.

“The principles of DOGE were very popular. If you looked at the polling, Elon was NOT,” he said. “Those Board of Directors did not like this announcement [of a new party] yesterday.”

X user Natalie F Danelishen shared the Bessent CNN video on X Sunday and wrote, “Do you know Scott Bessent was an executive for George Soros for over a decade?”

That led Musk himself to chime in.

“Bessent is a Soros stooge,” the CEO said. “And he’s a political science major who can’t even do math.”

Musk added, “The polling for me was very positive a year ago, which is why Trump used me so much.”
