President Donald Trump posted about actress Sydney Sweeney’s controversial jeans commercial Monday — before quickly deleting the message and reposting after fixing a misspelling of her name.
But the republish was too swift. The post disappeared again while more typos were corrected, before reappearing a third time.
According to an archive of Trump’s Truth Social account, he made the post on Monday morning.
“Sidney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the HOTTEST ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying of [sic] the shelves.’ Go get ’em Sidney,” Trump wrote, misspelling the actress’ name.
The president went on to contrast Sweeney’s American Eagle advertisement with failed campaigns from Jaguar and Bud Light.
“On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE, advertisement, THAT IS A DISASTER,” Trump opined. “Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short but very Woke campaign, the Company.”
“Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her,” he added.
Trump later reposted the message after correcting the spelling of Sweeney’s name. He would go on to delete and repost it at least one more time, that time correcting the typo in “flying of the shelves.”
