Far right influencer Candace Owens is vowing to fight a lawsuit launched by French leader Emmanuel Macron over Owens’ repeated claim that Macron’s wife is a man. And CNN’s ‘Table for Five’ panel can’t seem to figure out why.
“Got to be one of the dumbest arguments I’ve ever heard, first off,” said CNN data analyst Harry Enten. “Secondly, I mean, not only is she stupid, but she’s also disgusting, right? … She’s an antisemite. She’s anti-gay. She’s said [apologist] stuff about the history of slavery, which is disgusting.”
The Macrons’ attorneys warned Owens a year ago to cease her claims, but Owens refused. And she repeated her accusation this week when she announced her plan to fight.

“If you need any more evidence that Brigitte Macron is definitely a man, it is just what is happening right now,” Owens said. “The idea that you would file this lawsuit is all of the proof that you need. I am fully prepared to take on this battle on behalf of the entire world. I will see you in court.”
Owens’ statement caused puzzled looks around the ‘Table for Five,’ who agreed this was one battle the world did not request.
Atlantic writer Jemele Hill asked why Owens would even want to continue a fight that could be obliterated by a simple physical exam.
“I don’t understand how she thinks this is winnable, because you do realize that you’re going to have to show some level of proof behind what you say,” Hill said. “And then you have to show—at least the way I understand how most defamation cases work—that you have to prove there was no intentional malice. But there’s clearly a lot of intentional malice that is behind this.”

“I just don’t know what was ever the upside in starting such a terrible conspiracy theory about this particular person,” Hill added.
CNN anchor Abby Phillip reports that Owens claims Brigitte Macron was born a man, stole another person’s identity and transitioned to become Brigitte Macron. Owens further claims that Brigitte and President Macron are blood relatives committing incest and that President Macron was chosen to be the president of France as part of a CIA operated MK-Ultra program, or a similar mind control program.
“This is lunacy,” Phillip said.
Podcaster and ‘Tangle’ Editor-at-large Kmele Foster reminded the panel that Owens has a huge audience, despite her controversies.

“There are millions of people who pay attention to what Candace Owens says, otherwise she wouldn’t be doing it,” Foster said.
