Right-wing firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) roasted viewers of Fox News, which is known for having an elderly audience.
Speaking to the far-right streaming network Real America Voices, Greene responded to comments that came from a close Donald Trump ally, Mark Levin, who called her dumb and crazy.
“The Republican Party isn’t going the way of Marjorie Taylor Greene or her ilk. No way!” Levin said, according to a Daily Beast report on Thursday afternoon. Levin called Green “an absolute lunatic with an IQ of a snail.”
“Fox News [had] better start paying attention, but their problem is, most of the people that watch Fox News are very much up in age,” Greene clapped back. “The Baby Boomer generation—who I love, those are my parents—but that’s their biggest audience. That’s not the future of America.”
The Beast cited a 2023 report citing Fox’s audience at a median age of 68.
Fox isn’t an outlier, however. All cable news networks have a viewership that skews significantly older and is more popular with retirees than say Millennials or Gen Z.
Greene thinks that Levin and his ilk are out of touch with the majority of Americans, who are younger than 68.
“He’s insulting big time people that are under the age of 40,” Greene said. “Those younger generations don’t have a future in America because of Mark Levin and people like him and their policies that have destroyed our country for decades now.”
She also said that Levin never made any attempt to reach out to her or speak with her in person.
Greene has broken from her party and its leader over several issues. She takes issue with the hunger crisis in Gaza, she’s opposed the 10-year ban on states regulating artificial intelligence, she criticized Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” opposed bombing Iran, and she has been critical of Trump and his administration for refusing to release the files around the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.
“I don’t know if the Republican Party is leaving me, or if I’m kind of not relating to the Republican Party as much anymore,” Green once told the Daily Mail, the Beast recalled. “The course that it’s on, I don’t want to have anything to do with it.”
