This op-ed critically examines how Syria has become a battleground for international power plays, where foreign actors negotiate political and military arrangements with little regard for the Syrian people. It argues that the current trajectory–marked by normalization with the Assad regime, fragmentation on the ground, and exclusion of Syrians from decision-making–represents a moral and political failure
