‘Not creepy at all’: Critics disgusted at Trump complimenting Karoline Leavitt’s ‘lips’

On Friday, President Donald Trump sat down for an interview with far-right, pro-Trump network Newsmax, and his answer to a question about White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt prompted fierce criticism on social media.

Toward the end of the interview, Newsmax host Rob Finnerty asked Trump about Leavitt’s performance during her daily press briefings, and Trump complimented her skills as his administration’s chief spokesperson — as well as her looks.

“She’s become a star. It’s that face, it’s that brain, it’s those lips, the way they move, they move like — she’s a machine gun,” Trump said, noticeably lingering on the word “lips.”

“Is she in the room?” Trump asked Finnerty, who responded affirmatively. “She’s a star, and she’s great. She’s a great person, actually. But she’s, I don’t think anybody’s ever had a better press secretary than Karoline. She’s been amazing.”

Trump’s glowing comments about Leavitt prompted outrage and disgust on social media, with many commentators observing how unusual it was for a president to speak in such a way about his 27 year-old press secretary. Liberal group MeidasTouch observed: “This definitely sounds like something Jeffrey Epstein’s best friend would say.” X influencer “Wu Tang Is for the Children” sarcastically commented that Trump’s remarks were “not creepy at all.” Another X user made the point that “if any boss said something like this about an employee, they would be fired.”

“This is the language of a dementia patient, also 34x felon & adjudicated sex abuser,” tweeted former federal prosecutor Richard Signorelli.

“Wonder why the Epstein story won’t go away for him,” quipped Democratic strategist Adam Parkhomenko.
