‘Idiot’: Big name anchor buried in mockery over meltdown at deepfaked AOC video

A former CNN host was mocked on Wednesday after he shared an obviously deepfaked video of a lawmaker.

Chris Cuomo, who hosts “Cuomo” on NewsNation, shared a video of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on X where she called Sydney Sweeney’s controversial ad for America Eagle “blatant Nazi propaganda.” The deepfaked video also portrayed Ocasio-Cortez saying salacious things about the actress and cursing the floor of the House of Representatives.

“Nothing about hamas (sic) or people burning jews cars…but sweeney (sic) jeans ad? Deserved time on floor of congress (sic)? What happd (sic) to this party?” Cuomo posted on X. “Fight for small business…not for small culture wars.”

Several users replied to Cuomo’s post, noting he fell for an obvious fake video.

“This is a deepfake, dude,” Ocasio-Cortez posted on X. “Please use your critical thinking skills. At this point, you’re just reposting Facebook memes and calling it journalism.”

“Why isn’t this deleted?” Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) posted on X.

“Chris Cuomo just fell for (and got really mad over) an obviously AI fake AOC video *labeled as fake* in which AOC talks about Sydney Sweeney’s “fun bags” and says “f—” on the House floor lmaooo this man is not so smart,” lawyer John Teufel posted on X.

“It’s so fake that it’s clearly labeled as parody AI at the top,” journalist Yashar Ali posted on X.

“You are an idiot,” lawyer Jim Hacking posted on X.
