ICE Arrests Illegal Alien Pedophile in Rhode Island, Local Police Department Ignore Detainer

The men and women of ICE are working hard every day to protect American citizens from the dangers of illegal alien criminals. Unfortunately, their job has been more difficult thanks to sanctuary city policies in blue states that are controlled by leftist politicians.

Fox News Bill Melugin posted that the Portsmouth Police Department in Rhode Island ignored an ICE detainer for a criminal illegal alien alleged pedophile. Instead of turning him over to ICE, they released him back into the community after he was arrested for felony sex crimes that involved a child. Fortunately, ICE was able to find Josue Santiago Perez-Gomez, the same day of his release by police.

Perez-Gomez, originally from Guatemala, illegally entered the US originally as a “gotaway” with no specific information on when and where he entered.

The director of the ICE field office in Boston, Patricia Hyde, released a statement to Fox News, criticizing the release of the illegal alien, while at the same time commending the ICE officers for their hard work.

On a related note, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem this past week said that there is a 1000 percent increase in assaults on ICE agents who are arresting criminal illegal aliens.

Secretary Noem explained that politicians from sanctuary states are making the situation much worse by their careless rhetoric.

Fox News reported:

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents “are now facing a 1000% increase in assaults against them as they risk their lives to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens.”

Noem said in a post on X that these “acts of violence are fueled by sanctuary politicians’ rhetoric vilifying our law enforcement.”
