President Donald Trump singled out a pair of Republican lawmakers for praise after they pushed his agenda on television.

The president personally thanked Reps. Erin Houchen (R-IN) and Tom Emmer (R-MN) for their positive commentary about his agenda on Fox News this weekend in a pair of Truth Social posts, and he also tried again to justify his firing of Erika McEntarfer as Bureau of of Labor Statistics.

“Head of the Bureau of of Labor Statistics did the same thing just before the Presidential Election, when she lifted the numbers for jobs to an all time high,” Trump posted Sunday afternoon on his social media platform. “I then won the Election, anyway, and she readjusted the numbers downward, calling it a mistake, of almost one million jobs. A SCAM! She did it again, with another massive “correction,” and got FIRED! She had the biggest miscalculations in over 50 years.

Trump sent shockwaves through the capital by dismissing McEntarfer after she signed off on a government report showing hiring had slowed significantly in the past three months, and he praised Houcin for defending him Sunday morning on Fox News.

“Great Job by Representative Erin Houchin, Republican of Indiana, in discussing the Labor Statistics Scam on FoxNews,” Trump posted. “Thank you, Erin!”

The president also lavished praise on Emmer, also appeared Sunday on Fox News to claim “Trump’s leadership has accomplished more in six months then Democrats on the left have accomplished in four years.”

“Thank you to Congressman Tom Emmer of Minnesota for his great defense of everything Republican,” Trump posted. “His television appearances are GOLD! The Dems are in a state of collapse!!!”
