Vice President JD Vance lashed out on Wednesday at a report that he was planning to host a strategy meeting over the Trump administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files saga.
Earlier in the day, CNN and ABC News reported that Vance was meeting with Attorney General Pam Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel, and White House chief of staff Susie Wiles at the Vice President’s residence to discuss the files. The meeting is happening at a time when many are speculating that President Donald Trump may offer Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell a pardon in exchange for favorable testimony against Trump’s political opponents.
Trump was asked during a news conference about the meeting. He punted the question to Vance, who rebutted the report.
“I saw that report this morning, and it’s completely fake news,” Vance said. “We are not meeting to talk about the Epstein situation, and I think the reporter needs to get better sources.”
Trump then called the reporting “total bulls—.”
