‘Exposed her’: Laura Loomer boasts after top NSA lawyer ousted

Far-right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer likely had a role in getting the top lawyer for the National Security Agency fired, according to The New York Times.

A new article reported that “an official briefed on the matter” said Loomer’s online criticism of April Falcon Doss, appointed to the general counsel post during the Biden administration, “appeared to have a role” in her firing.

The report recounted the timeline that led to Doss’s demise:

“On July 23, the Daily Wire, a conservative website, wrote about Ms. Doss and her former work for the Senate Intelligence Committee’s Democratic staff. Later that day, Laura Loomer, a far-right conspiracy theorist, amplified a social media post critical of Ms. Doss that cited the Daily Wire article.

“In a text message on Tuesday, Ms. Loomer said that she had ‘reposted a tweet that exposed her last week and flagged it for the right people.’”

The report added that the NSA web page containing Doss’s biography “now redirects to an error page.”

Doss could not be reached for comment, while NSA “declined to comment and referred questions to the Defense Department.” The Pentagon hadn’t responded by publication, the report said.

Last spring, Loomer was given credit for Trump’s firing of Gen. Timothy Haugh, who headed U.S. Cyber Command, along with his civilian NSA deputy Wendy Noble.

Loomer confirmed that she had “urged” Trump during a White House meeting to fire the two. She posted to social media at the time, “NSA Director Tim Haugh and his deputy Wendy Noble have been disloyal to President Trump. That is why they have been fired.”
