‘De-Muskification’: DOGE just ‘lost all remaining influence’ at key agency

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency just suffered another massive blow as the Trump administration continues its “de-Muskification” of the General Services Administration, according to a new report.

Musk and Trump’s dramatic falling out came over disagreements about Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.” Musk strongly opposed the bill, which experts say will explode the national debt, and urged Republicans to vote against it. In turn, he was thrust out of Trump’s circle.

On Thursday, Politico reported that his DOGE team suffered another major blow. Trump installed Mike Rigas as acting GSA administrator, “effectively layering DOGE-aligned Stephen Ehikian atop the agency.”

“With Ehikian losing his role [as acting administrator of GSA], DOGE has lost all remaining influence,” A person close to DOGE who was granted anonymity told the outlet.

It wasn’t immediately clear how long Ehikian will remain in that role, two people told the outlet, which described the move as a “clear attempt” to dilute the influence of DOGE staffers where they wielded “significant” control.”
