A MAGA lawmaker slammed Democrats this week after protesters with cowbells were caught on camera carrying a coffin to his doorstep to symbolize the “death of democracy.”

More than two dozen protesters were recorded on video last week delivering a faux coffin to the front door of Rep. Bryan Steil (R-WI), Fox News reported. The protesters were dressed in black and carried cowbells. At least one carried an upside-down American Flag.

The protesters included an epitaph with a pointed message on the replica coffin.

“Here lie the hopes of the most vulnerable killed by the ‘Big Beautiful Bill‘ signed into law by President Donald J. Trump and endorsed by lyin’ Bryan Steil. RIP democracy 1776-2025.”

Ellen Holly, former Walworth County Democratic Party Chairwoman, was identified by Fox as being in the video.

The protest was reported to the U.S. Capitol Police, according to the report. It wasn’t immediately clear if the protesters would face criminal charges.

Steil blasted Democrats in a statement to Fox.

“It’s disappointing that Democrat leadership and the radical left resort to these type of tactics,” he said. “I remain committed to my work to get this country back on track and will not be deterred by their threats.”
