Chaos in NYC: 17-Year-Old Suspect Arrested After Multiple People Shot in Times Square (VIDEO)

Gunfire erupted in Times Square, one of America’s most iconic tourist destinations, during the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 17-year-old suspect was arrested, but his name has not been publicly released at this time.

The shooting left at least three people wounded and sent crowds fleeing in panic at approximately 1:20 AM, near West 44th Street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan.

According to reports, an argument between two individuals escalated into violence when a gunman opened fire, striking multiple bystanders in the crowded area outside the Hard Rock Cafe.

Witnesses described scenes of utter mayhem as tourists and locals scattered for cover.

Footage posted to social media captured the moment crowds bolted down the streets after hearing the shots.

The victims included an 18-year-old female who suffered a graze gunshot wound to the neck, a 19-year-old male shot in the right foot, and a 65-year-old male hit in the left leg.

All three were rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.

Emergency responders were seen attending to at least one person on the ground amid the confusion.

New York Police Department (NYPD) officers quickly arrived at the scene and closed down multiple roads in the area.

The 17-year-old suspect was apprehended near 44th Street and 7th Avenue, and officers recovered a gun at the scene.
