Bombshell recording of Ghislaine Maxwell interview could be released—after Trump edits it

Questions have swirled in the wake of Justice Department official Todd Blanche’s interview with convicted trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, the one-time accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein. New reporting now reveals there’s a full recording of the interview.

CNN reporter Kristen Holmes posted on X Tuesday that three administration officials confirmed that there is an audio recording and a transcript is being drafted.

The officials also said that they are considering whether to release the transcript of the interview. However, the recording and transcript will go through an editing process by President Donald Trump’s staff, the report said.

“The administration has been transcribing and digitizing the recording. Portions of the transcript that could reveal sensitive details like victim names would also have to be redacted,” Holmes wrote, citing one of the officials.

Another White House official noted that some inside the West Wing believe the story has died down, so releasing the information would only reignite the controversy.

Others, who disagree, want to take over the rollout of information to better control the “narrative and optics,” the report said.

Since the interview with Blanche, Maxwell was moved from a low-security prison to an even lower-security prison “camp.”
