The First Lady has found herself in the middle of her husband’s drama, according to one expert.
Michael Wolff, who has written four books about President Donald Trump, said on Saturday that Melania Trump is “very involved” in the Jeffrey Epstein saga. He made the comments on The Daily Beast’s eponymous podcast hosted by Joanna Coles, the publication’s chief content officer.
“She was very involved in this Epstein relationship,” Wolff said.
He added that Melania was introduced to Trump through a model agent named Paolo Zampolli, who had a relationship with both Trump and Epstein.
“Epstein says the first time that Donald and Melania have sex is on his airplane,” Wolff continued.
Trump has frantically tried to distance himself from the Epstein story, which has consumed his presidency for the last couple of weeks. For example, he has tried to blame Democrats for creating the files. He has also described the files as a “witch hunt” and a “hoax.”
However, multiple outlets have reported on personal ties between the two men. The Wall Street Journal ran a story about a birthday letter Trump penned to Epstein. The New York Times also reported on additional ties between the two men. CNN has published photographs of Epstein and Trump together at numerous events.
“This is another complicated issue in this,” Wolff said. “Where does she fit into all of this? Where does she fit in the Epstein story? Into this whole culture of models of indeterminate age?”
