‘Disgraceful’: Ex-national security official blasts CIA director for lying to ‘please his boss’

Former National Security Advisor Mikes Taylor criticized CIA Director John Ratcliffe Tuesday for dismissing Russia’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election as a “Hillary [Clinton] hoax.”

In a post on the social platform X, Taylor wrote: “I sat with John Ratcliffe in 2016 when he got briefed on Russia’s interference. He knew Putin was responsible. Now — to please his boss — he says it was a Hillary hoax. This is really disgraceful, John.”

Taylor’s comments come in response to a recent Ratcliffe interview in which the director echoed long‑debunked claims that the idea of Russia favoring President Donald Trump over Clinton was orchestrated by Democrats.

Meanwhile, Trump applauded the Justice Department (DOJ) for convening a grand jury in the cases involving officials from Barack Obama’s administration.

In a Tuesday morning interview, the president stated that although he wasn’t involved in the decision, he is “happy” that Attorney General Pam Bondi took action this week in response to the criminal referrals from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

“They deserve it,” Trump told CNBC Squawk Box host Joe Kernen during the Tuesday interview.

“I was happy to hear it,” he added.

This victory lap comes following Bondi’s revelation on Monday that she signed an order directing an unnamed prosecutor to convene a grand jury related to disclosures about the origins of the Russia collusion investigation.
