‘Rattled you’: Radio host chides Trump after president calls him a ‘racist sleazebag’

The spat between radio host Charlamagne tha God and President Donald Trump heated up Monday.

Charlamagne appeared on the Fox News show “My View with Lara Trump,” the president’s daughter-in-law, over the weekend, and criticized the president for not following through on his promises. The radio host pointed to the release of information surrounding disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and the administration’s lack of willingness to release the Epstein files.

Following the appearance, Trump called Charlamagne a “racist sleazebag” in a social media post.

Charlamagne responded during Monday’s episode of “The Breakfast Club,” Politico reported.

“President Trump, don’t worry about Lenard, okay, don’t worry about Charlamagne tha God,” Charlamagne said, referring to his given name, Lenard McKelvey.

“I know something I said hit a nerve and rattled you a little bit, but I don’t want you rattled,” Charlamagne continued. “I want you to end wars, okay? I want you to keep the border secure. I want you to have the economy booming, okay? I want all these things to be true. I am an American. I don’t care who’s in the White House. I want America to succeed. But I need you focused, and right now you’re not focused.”

Charlamagne added that he was “just talking to [Trump’s] base” with the comments in an effort to remind them about the promises Trump made to them.

“It’s actually hilarious to see you upset about the high unemployment rates when you let Elon Musk take a chainsaw to the federal government and fire a bunch of government workers earlier this year. You did that, President Trump,” Charlamagne said.
