Mary Trump warns her uncle ‘isn’t the problem anymore’

On Sunday morning, July 27, psychologist/author Mary Trump — President Donald Trump’s niece and a scathing critic of her uncle — took part in an “Ask Me Anything” session on X, formerly Twitter.

One of the things she addressed was was the Trump Administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. And Mary Trump expressed skepticism over the idea that the Epstein case will be his political downfall.

Asked if the Epstein controversy will be a “catalyst for the MAGA movement ending over a period of time,” she responded, “Maybe in the long term, but not in the short term.”

Mary Trump told listeners, “Even if it implicates him, nobody’s going to indict him.”

Mary Trump empathized that the MAGA movement is much bigger than Trump himself at this point.

“If it did kind of end his reign of power,” she told “Ask Me Anything” listeners, “(Vice President) JD Vance becomes president…. We need to remember this, it’s really important — I’m not saying this shouldn’t all play out, because of course it should. What I’m saying is, Donald Trump isn’t the problem anymore. That’s what I’m saying. And we need to be very, very clear about that.”

Remembering Donald Trump’s rocky relationship with her father, the late Fred Trump Jr., Mary Trump told listeners, “The arrogance was always there. The insecure defensiveness was always there. The bullying was always there.”
