‘Make America Wait Again’: Giant heads mocking Elon Musk appear in national parks

A temporary art installation mocking Elon Musk is appearing at national parks nationwide.

For the last three weekends, a giant Musk head has appeared in crowded parking lots and long lines of people waiting to enter the parks. This past weekend, the head appeared at Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State with a sign stating “Make America Wait Again” and “Now With Longer Lines Thanks To DOGE Cuts!”

Musk, the former “first buddy” and leader of the Department of Government Efficiency, helped slash federal spending on national parks while he worked in the federal government. While many national parks have said they are fully staffed, funding for back-office projects like infrastructure improvements and wildlife studies has not yet materialized, NPR reported.

Next year, Trump intends to cut more than $1 billion from the parks service and has floated the idea of selling off national monuments to create more land to build housing, according to NPR.

The giant heads are also not the only art installations built to mock officials in President Donald Trump’s administration.

For instance, a red Trump statue recently emerged from the sewers in New York. The installation is called “Make America Grime Again,” USA Today reported.

Other statues mocking Trump have also appeared near the White House. For example, there is a statue of a golden television showing Trump dancing awkwardly.

There is also an eight-foot-tall statue of Lady Liberty’s head with a golden thumbs up with the caption “Dictator Approved.”
